چکیده

In this study, the minimum number of antennas at each user is derived to obtain 2M degrees of freedom (DOF) in the M × 1 ×M multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) multi-user two-way relay X channels. Based on the design of beamforming vectors for the conventional signal space alignment scheme, it is shown that each user needs at least ⌈M − (M/2)⌉ antennas to obtain DOF 2M with the relay having M antennas. As the number of users increases, the number of antennas also increases, which makes the implementation difficult. In an effort to reduce the number of antennas, the authors propose a new beamforming scheme of MIMO multi-user two-way relay X channels using the time extension. Through the numerical analysis, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme with time extension is a good alternative scheme to replace the conventional scheme.

Degrees of Freedom for the MIMO Multi-way Relay Channel

This paper investigates the degrees of freedom (DoF) of the L-cluster, K-user MIMO multi-way relay channel, where users in each cluster wish to exchange messages within the cluster, and they can only communicate through the relay. A novel DoF upper bound is derived by providing users with carefully designed genie information. Achievable DoF is identified using signal space alignment and multipl...

Degrees of Freedom for MIMO Two-Way X Relay Channel

We study the degrees of freedom (DOF) of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) two-way X relay channel, where there are two groups of source nodes and one relay node, each equipped with multiple antennas, and each of the two source nodes in one group exchanges independent messages with the two source nodes in the other group via the relay node. It is assumed that every source node is equipped...

Multi-Way Information Exchange Over Completely-Connected Interference Networks with a Multi-Antenna Relay

This paper considers a fully-connected interference network with a relay in which multiple users equipped with a single antenna want to exchange multiple unicast messages with other users in the network by sharing the relay equipped with multiple antennas. For such a network, the degrees of freedom (DoF) are derived by considering various message exchange scenarios: a multi-user fullyconnected ...

Degrees of Freedom of the Two-Way Relay MIMO Interference Channel

We investigate the symmetric degrees of freedom (DoF) of the K-pair (2K users) two-way relay Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Gaussian interference channel for K = 2, 3 where each user is equipped with M antennas and the relay node is equipped with N antennas. The two users of each pair communicate with each other via the help of the relay only. Expressing the DoF characterization as a fun...

Degrees of Freedom in Non-Coherent Stationary MIMO Fading Channels

New non-asymptotic upper bounds on the capacity of non-coherent multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) Gaussian fading channels with memory are proposed. These bounds are used to derive upper bounds on the fading number of regular Gaussian fading channels and on the pre-log of non-regular ones. The resulting bounds are tight in the multiple-input single-output (MISO) spatially IID Gaussian case ...
